This first collection from one of Poland’s most promising poets spans the course of an already rich publishing career, covering her childhood and the experience of growing up in post-Communist Poland to her most recent struggles with life in England and the continuation of her existence as a woman of letters on foreign soil. She won the “Tyska Zima Poetycka” competition for the publication of a volume of post-debut poetry. Her poems have been translated into English. In 2006, she left Poland and moved to the UK, where she currently resides in the town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. |
