Last summer, six Polish writers teamed up with six UK partner/writers to take part in the first ever ‘Once Upon A Deadline in Translation’ event: a one-day Writers Marathon which took them all on a fact-finding, fiction-spinning odyssey to a variety of locations in Southend, including a train ride to the end of the world’s longest pleasure pier, plus lunch in the cockle sheds in neighbouring Leigh-on-Sea.

Each book is hand stitched using the Japanese Yamato / monk style binding and made specifically to individual order. The books are numbered and each customer ordering their totally unique copy can request the book include a dedication to them or anyone of their choosing. ONCE UPON A DEADLINE
‘Once Upon A Deadline’ is part of the Polish Arts Festival in Southend-on-Sea, an annual festival produced by Hungry Arts, which promotes contemporary Polish arts and culture to UK audiences and forges new creative collaborations between international artists.
