OFF_ is a UK-based independent press, promoting contemporary creative writing in English and Polish translations, using multimedia and live events to celebrate reading and storytelling in different languages/genres around the world.
The aims of OFF_ are fivefold;
- encourage the reading of literature in translation
- bring writers together around an independent press
- create a bridge between English and Polish literary worlds
- publish books and anthologies under the OFF_Press banner
- use multimedia tools and networks to promote literature worldwide
OFF_ jest niezależnym wydawnictwem z siedzibą w Wielkiej Brytanii, które promuje współczesną twórczość literacką w przekładzie polskim i angielskim. Przez aktwyną promocję literatury rozumiemy organizację wydarzeń literackich, wieczorów autorskich, spotkań z pisarzami tworzącymi w różnych językach, także z użyciem filmu i sztuk wizualnych.
OFF_ zamierza realizować pięć głównych założeń:
- Skupiać pisarzy wokół niezależnego wydawnictwa
- Zachęcać brytyjskiego czytelnika do sięgania po przekłady literackie
- Stworzyć platformę wymiany kulturowej pomiędzy autorami piszącymi w róznych językach a publicznością brytyjską
- Publikować antologie książkowe i nowe tytuły
- Aktywnie promować literaturę niezależną za pomocą filmu, sztuk wizulanych i multimediów.

SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
ENGLISH
- We are always open to submissions (poetry, prose, reportage, journalism, comment, etc)
- Word limit for prose is a maximum of approximately 1500, and for poetry is a minimum of 3 poems
- In the case of work published previously in Polish, we will only publish the English translation (crediting the original title publisher)
- All copyrights remain with the original authors
- Final say regarding translations remains with the original authors
- We do not pay for submissions, but the best content will be considered for inclusion in print publications.
POLISH
- Jesteśmy otwarci na prace w języku polskim (poezja, proza, reportaż, publicystyka, komentarz, itp.)
- Szukamy współczesnych, wyrazistych treści (Prosimy uważnie przeczytać kryteria przed wysłaniem tekstu)
- Limit to ok. 1500 słów prozy lub minimum 3 wiersze
- Jeśli zaakceptujemy Twoją propozycję, tekst zostanie przetłumaczony na język angielski i wysłany do autoryzacji
- Akceptujemy prace publikowane wcześniej w języku polskim; w takim przypadku publikujemy wyłącznie tłumaczenie na język angielski
- Prawa autorskie należą do autorów
- Ostatnie słowo w sprawie tłumaczeń mają nasi autorzy
- Nie płacimy za publikacje, natomiast najlepsze prace ukazują się drukiem w antologiach książkowych.
